my love is building a building - e.e. cummings

my love is building a building
around you,a frail slippery
house,a strong fragile house
(beginning at the singular beginning

of your smile)a skilful uncouth
prison, a precise clumsy
prison(building thatandthis into Thus,
Around the reckless magic of your mouth)

my love is building a magic, a discrete
tower of magic and(as i guess)

when Farmer Death(whom fairies hate)shall
crumble the mouth-flower fleet
He’ll not my tower,
                        laborious, casual
where the surrounded smile
                                hangs
                                          breathless

Nature's predictable rhythmic patterns are changing rapidly

Distilled Reconstructed Landscapes

It’s fair to say that my paintings contain layered meaning. Minimally, my paintings are a reaction to the Western culture of my time—my rejection of our society’s penchant for excess and indifference that threatens our planet’s ecosystems. I do not paint pictures of polluted rivers or littered fields. My work represents my own attempts in these chaotic times to reconnect and decipher the natural world, and to come to grips with the exigencies of today’s stark environmental situation. Violence and destruction also exist in nature, yet when I paint, I choose to ignore these traits. In nature’s predictable rhythmic patterns, I see the sublime. To me, nature represents the ultimate example of gracious acceptance of change, even death; winter’s repose inevitably yields to spring’s rebirth. For these reasons, my paintings   at least, are simplified, idealized attempts that speak to nature’s persistence, vulnerability and beauty, which I paint if for no other reason than this: within the natural world exists the promise of rejuvenation..

that beach rooted tableau: aka "kisses deep"

October 5, 2015
constable clouds summer heat
nonsensical pleasure garden
no beach illustration
just kisses deep

later summer one - more - time
with sound be in stitches
on the double - soft hands
a beach rooted tableau and kisses deep

inner hallway, winter courtyard
head warmth on my sun lap
foolish four wall content
and more kisses deep

sculptures propagate in that meadow
slow approach steel red monster
minds eye close arm longer day
and many kisses deep

Forever Truth

chilling distance and a visceral memory of warmer summer(s)
as many other seasons that had gone cold in the dimness of low light coming

or is it the clearness now of the telling signals that make it cold all at once
and so very fuzzy - his sleepless night and his telling pantomime

re-assured by the forever truth moments
its that false "truth in nature" or rather, those false "perceptual moments"

those forever sentence-less minutes that seemed real - seemed nice
those (fucking) forever eyes and of course those truth-full limitations

chilling distance and a visceral memory of this colder summer
with the dimness of low light going and the seasons coming in with the cold
